She celebrated her 48th birthday in typically lavish style on Monday, surrounded by friends, family and beau Alex Rodriguez.
But fans were more interested in Jennifer Lopez‘s birthday cake after pictures emerged of the star posing alongside a towering, six-tired centrepiece that would put a bog-standard Victoria sponge to shame.
J.Lo’s latest sweet treat, from Miami-based Divine Delicacies Custom Cakes, was festooned with white icing roses and topped with ‘Jennifer’ spelled out in glittering Swarovski crystals.
The chocolate creation also featured an ornate lion head pattern ‘encrusted in 24K edible gold’.

Sent from her sister Lynda, J. Lo enjoyed tucking into this chocolate creation back in 2013
Lucky J. Lo was given this towering chocolate creation by younger sister Lynda, topped with icing and chocolate balls.
The pair are famously close, with Lynda taking to Instagram again this week to write: ‘Awesome sister/awesome mother/awesome friend… Hope you get everything you wish for today.’
The cake, if custom made, is believed to be worth around £150 ($169).
2014: Giant edible sculpture – Up to £3,000 ($3,912)
Cake maker Samantha Brooks spent two days creating this custom-made, edible treat
J. Lo’s lavish 45th birthday bash was rumoured to have cost a staggering £100,000 ($130,400). The centrepiece? A life-sized edible sculpture of the birthday girl herself.
The gigantic coconut mousse-filled sculpture was created in just two days with Samantha Brooks telling the Guardian: ‘A cake of this size needs different pieces of hardware for stability, including steel pipes, floor flanges, PVC pipes, as well as more traditional baking ingredients such as modelling chocolate, Rice Krispies, fondant and gum paste.’
Claire believes this commission could have cost anywhere up to £2,000- £3,000 ($2,608-$3,912), telling Femail: ‘As this cake was turned around in two days the baker could have charged considerable excess to cover overtime and fast tracking deliveries of ingredients/components.’
2015: Single tiers with hand-painted sides – £150 ($196)
Jennifer celebrates with a pretty, hand-painted cake for her 46th party at the Hamptons
She turned 46 in style with at least two parties. In one, she was lavished with two multi-coloured marble cakes.
But at a more intimate do held for friends and family in the Hamptons, the mother-of-two celebrated with a sparkler-topped floral number that matched her dress.
Claire puts this single-tiered cake with hand-painted sides and bedecked with buttercream flowers at around £150 ($196).
2016: Five tiers for the birthday girl: £1,000 ($1,303)
The singer’s cakes have got more lavish over the years, with this one estimated at £1,000 ($1,303)
It wouldn’t be a J.Lo party without lashings of sparkle, and her 47th birthday cake was one of her most impressive yet.
The huge, five-tiered centrepiece was covered with thick white icing and decorated with silver floral and diamanté detail to match the singer’s sequin dress.
After examining the photos Claire determined that factoring in the risers between each layer of white fondant, as well as the lace effect, this would have cost around £1,000 ($1,303).
