2 killed after car crashes into Food City in Oak Ridge
The driver died at the scene. An injured passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital where they died after arriving.
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Two people died after a car crashed into the side of a Food City in Oak Ridge on Saturday morning.
Oak Ridge Police Chief Robin Smith confirmed two people had died in the crash. It happened at the Food City located off the Oak Ridge Turnpike Saturday morning.
Crews were seen responding to the crash near the store’s pharmacy drive-thru window around 9:30 a.m. that runs along South Rutgers Avenue. The crash appears to have knocked off a chunk of the facade on the top of the building.
