Fan friendly! Jennifer Lopez takes time out from fighting crime on cop show Shades of Blue to greet young admirer
Jennifer Lopez may star as a tough detective on new NBC series Shades of Blue, but she’s still as sweet as ever when it comes to her fans.
And on Thursday the 46-year-old showed off her warm personality as she took the time during a break from filming to visit with a young fan outside the show’s Greenpoint, Queens set.
She could be seen picking up the little boy – who was carrying a DVD of her 2002 film Maid in Manhattan – and enveloping him in a big hug.

Jennifer looked stylish as she greeted the boy, sporting a form-fitting light grey T-shirt, which was tucked into a pair of pinstripe trousers.
She finished off the practical yet flattering look with a pair of black, lace-up boots with a chunky heel, and accessorized with a wristwatch with a brown leather band.
At times she wore a fitted, pinstripe grey suit jacket – with the sleeves rolled up – while her short, caramel tresses were styled in wild curls that just reached her shoulders.

Her young fan sported a white, short-sleeved button down decorated with palm trees and designs in shades of pastel blue and pink.
The colorful shirt was coupled with a pair of grey trousers and coordinating pair of slip-on shoes, and he held tightly to his Maid in Manhattan DVD.
Jennifer had starred alongside Ralph Fiennes and Natasha Richardson in the Wayne Wang-directed movie, which depicted a Senator (Ralph) falling for a hotel maid (Jennifer), thinking she was a wealthy guest, after she had tried on one of the woman’s dresses while cleaning her room.

The mother-of-two sported a warm grin as she greeted the boy, even picking him up as the two chatted, and could later be seen posing alongside him and the DVD that she had graciously signed.
That same day Jennifer was spotted putting her acting skills to the test as she filmed a tense scene with co-star Ray Liotta on set in Greenpoint, Queens.
She could be seen desperately attempting CPR on a fallen comrade after a confrontation, and then backing away in distress as paramedics arrived to take over.

The performer was joined in the emotional scene by co-star Ray, who donned a denim button down underneath an olive green jacket, finishing it off with a pair of fitted navy blue trousers.
Another scene had the pair filming from a high-rise building, as they looked down in anguish on two men laying on the ground below, one of whom Jennifer’s character would later rush down to aid.
Earlier that day the American Idol judge was spotted looking laid-back as she left her apartment in New York City.

She finished off the look with a pair of coordinating black flip flops, and accessorized with a black leather handbag.
The Feel the Light singer wore her caramel locks pulled back into a messy bun on top of her head, and hid her eyes behind a stylish pair of black sunglasses as she made her way to the Shades of Blue set.

Day Okeniyi, Warren Kole, Vincent Laresca, and Sarah Jeffery will star alongside Jennifer in the new police procedural, coming to NBC at midseason.
Jennifer’s starring role has meant that the hitmaker has been kept very busy lately – over the weekend the singer took on her other TV role as a judge on American Idol.
She joined Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban to hold the competition show’s Philadelphia auditions on Sunday, preparing for Idol’s final season.
