Aaron Taylor-Johnson suggested that his wife avoid watching his latest film because of her phobia.

One of the top contenders for the role of James Bond advised his wife not to watch his new film Nosferatu due to her phobia. The unexpected reason was her fear of a particular type of animal.

Rats play a key role in the film, in which 34-year-old actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson portrays Friedrich Harding. “I told Sam, ‘Sorry, but you can’t watch this movie.’ She replied, ‘I want to watch it, but is it really that scary?’ I said, ‘Well, you have a phobia of rats, that’s the first thing. And secondly, the movie is truly terrifying.’ And I know it will cause sleepless nights for most viewers. But people love these kinds of films,” he explained.

Nosferatu is a remake of the 1922 silent horror film, with a similar theme centered around a vampire’s obsession with a young woman. However, beyond love and fear, the film features a unique detail: 5,000 rats, which become part of one of the creepiest scenes.

In scenes featuring Bill Skarsgård, who plays the main vampire, rats were trained to appear on cue. The film’s director, Robert Eggers, also discussed the challenges of working with such a large number of animals. “Most of the rats were trained to appear on signal. However, when thousands of rats appeared on screen, we had to use acrylic glass to ensure their safety. And in some scenes, rats were replaced with CGI,” he said.

The toughest challenge, according to Eggers, was a scene in which actress Emma Corrin had to lie on the floor, completely covered in rats. “The rats were urinating and defecating on her in every new scene. It was tough,” admitted Robert.

Despite the creepy moments on set, Aaron Taylor-Johnson chose to continue with the project. According to him, although the film contains scary scenes, it is definitely worth watching for hardcore horror fans. Recently, the actor portraying Harding was named the most handsome man in the world according to the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi.
