Hug From Family Before Life ….
JUDGE SAYS NO: Teen Killer BEGS For Final Family Hug Before Life Sentence — And Gets DENIED`
An 18-year-old convicted in the 2024 murder of 15-year-old Kayla Rincon-Miller was sentenced July 10 in Cape Coral, Florida.
Before being taken away, Thomas Stein asked the judge one last thing:
_“If I could just ask you one thing, if before I walk out of the courtroom, if I could give my family a hug, if you’d allow that?”_
The judge said no.
Stein and Christopher Horne Jr. were driving a rented SUV looking to burglarize cars when they randomly targeted Kayla and her friends walking home from a movie. Prosecutors say Stein drove past twice, then stopped. A gun was fired at close range. Kayla died at the hospital.
Horne took a plea deal and testified against Stein. He got less time.
Stein got life, plus 45 years for attempted armed robbery.
